Available Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate
Thanks to the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, there’s no need to fumble for keys. Its hands-free operation is especially helpful when your arms are full of items like grocery bags. With the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, kick your foot under the bumper and the liftgate opens. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful for lower overhangs. Standard on the Ford Escape SEL and Titanium models.
Available Active Park Assist 2.0
Standard on Titanium, Active Park Assist 2.0 takes parallel or perpendicular parking to an automatic level. Once the feature is engaged by pushing the Active Park Assist button, the system will detect an appropriate parallel or perpendicular parking spot. When the system identifies a parking spot, it will prompt you to come to a complete stop, shift to Neutral, release the brake pedal and hold the Active Park Assist utton down; the vehicle does the rest. All steering, shifting, brake and accelerator controls are performed by the system. The system can do the same actions for exiting a parallel parking spot as well.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
This standard feature scans the road ahead and can help alert you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path. If an impact is imminent and you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically. But don’t worry — they’ll only activate if they’re needed.
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert
This standard feature can help detect and alert you to vehicles in your blind spot, while Cross-Traffic Alert can detect traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking space or driveway.
Available Active Park Assist 2.0
Available Active Park Assist 2.0 is parking made easy — even in tight parallel or reverse perpendicular spots. When engaged, it can help locate a potential spot. Then all you have to do is brake to a complete stop, shift into Neutral and hold down the Active Park Assist button — your vehicle does the rest.
Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering
This available feature slows down your vehicle if the traffic ahead has stopped or slowed. When things clear, you’ll resume your set speed. The Lane Centering feature scans lane markings to help keep your vehicle centred between the lines.*
Rear View Camera
The standard Rear View Camera provides a great view of what’s behind your vehicle. Just make sure to keep the camera lens free of debris (like snow or dust) and you can navigate your vehicle in reverse with confidence.
Available Evasive Steering Assist
This available feature can help make it easier to avoid a potential collision. It doesn’t steer for you, but it can provide extra steering support if the system warning goes off and you need to manoeuvre around the vehicle ahead.

60/40 Split-Fold-Flat Rear Seat Backs With New Sliding Function
Fold both rear seat backs for a flat load surface that offers up to 65.4 cu. ft. (1,852 litres) of total cargo space. Or fold down either of the standard 60/40 split rear seat backs and still save room for a passenger. The second-row rear seats also feature a new sliding function, allowing for greater ease of use when loading up cargo. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cu. ft. (962 litres) of cargo space or best-in-class second-row leg room.

1.5L EcoBoost® Engine
The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Auto Start-Stop Technology can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. When your vehicle comes to a stop, the engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.
Available 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology
The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine comes with Auto Start-Stop Technology and SelectShift®. The 8-speed SelectShift transmission offers the convenience of an automatic or the sporty feel of a manual. What’s more, with the Class II Trailer Tow Package (standard with the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine), this engine can support a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg (3,498 lbs.).
Hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Engine
The 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88 kW electric motor. Standard on all Escape Hybrid and Escape Plug-In Hybrid models.
Powertrains and Hybrid Technology
The new 2022 Escape has a choice of a Hybrid*, Plug-in Hybrid* and EcoBoost engines with Auto Start-Stop technology, including a 1.5L EcoBoost® Engine and the 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine. The Plug-In Hybrid Escape features a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine.

Available Intelligent AWD and AWD Disconnect
Designed to help save fuel, available All-Wheel-Drive Disconnect automatically lets you disconnect the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, therefore reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.
Selectable Drive Modes
Designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on varying road surfaces. The different modes are Normal, Eco, Slippery, Sport and Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, each of these driving modes can modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system.
Towing Capability
Escape Titanium with its 2.0L EcoBoost® engine has a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg. (3,498 lbs.) when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine, when properly equipped, can tow up to 907 kg. And don’t forget about hybrid capability, because when properly equipped, the Hybrid and Escape Plug-in Hybrid are powered by the 2.5L I-4 and can each tow up to 680 kg (1,499 lbs.).
